Moto GP at Indianapolis Speedway
Dave,Chris and Mike at the famous Indianapolis Speedway. We were there for the 2011 Moto GP Super Bike racing. If you have never seen these boys run it is awesome. Handle bar to handle bar at 200 mph.Australian Casey Stoner(Honda) took the checkered flag for first followed by Spaniard Dani Pedrosa(Honda) and Ben Spies from the USA on a Yamaha. The last race was the AMA Vance and Hines XR 1200 with all Harley Davidson power won by the entry from Bruce Rossmyer Harley Davidson in Daytona Beach,FL. The ride from PA to Indy is boring at best but it is still a ride and by looking at the license plates in the parking lot everyone rode, very few trailers to be seen. We saw bikes from all over the country and it was amazing how many countries were represented at the track. Many were wearing their national colors and it resembled a soccer game atmosphere with more noise and smoke, a really good time. The motorcycle industry is certainly alive and well as all the major manufactures had impressive displays in the vendor village. The perfect chance to try the latest gadgets and clothing from vendors I never heard of and items I never dreamed I needed. If you get a chance to see one of these races, take it,whether you like sport bikes or not. They only race twice a year in the US, LaGuna Seca in CA and Indianapolis,IN. If you love bikes, you will like this event.
